Reading is to Mind, What Exercise is to Body

A habit?
A part of one self?

Within a couple of years from birth, we are sent to schools.
The only purpose behind it is to educate us. We are taught to read and write there.

Imagine a life where we need to live without reading or writing!
It would be boring to the core. It has now become a part of our life.

We read something or the other everyday. Be it the name of the product we use or the movie posters pasted on the streets.

Some of us start our day reading newspaper, whereas few others read the status updates in Facebook. On the other hand, many of us, wake up reading the "Good Morning" SMS sent by friends and family.

We read... We read and we continue to read in one way or the other...
Yet we don't really take an effort to cultivate the habit of reading something worthwhile!!

Mr. Joseph Addison was an English essayist and a poet.
He rightly quoted that, "Reading is to mind, what exercise is to body"

There are so many articles and awareness programs stating the importance of physical exercise.
But, there are very few propaganda when it comes to mental exercise, reading!!!

Its only two days since New year...
With a conscious effort, let us deliberately force ourselves to read something worthwhile everyday...

As I always say, life is too short...
Make use of it to the fullest...
Read to expand the horizons of your knowledge!!!
